Public toilets
The small West Auckland community of Huia has a very nice reserve overlooking Huia Bay. There are two parking areas, public toilets, and a childrens play area.
It was quite busy when we called in on a public holiday, but we had no trouble finding somewhere to park.
It's a quiet and relaxed location with a really beautiful view acrose the bay. There is a small beach store and cafe that sells icecreams and fish n chips just a short walk back into town.
This would be an excellent place to park overnight, and there are no signs forbidding it. If you're exploring out this way, it is a much better option than the council campsite at Barn Paddock.
