Manukau Heads Lighthouse

Manukau Heads Lighthouse is one of New Zealand's iconic historic locations that only very few people know about. Lovingly restored, repositioned on beautifully landscaped grounds, it is open to the public for free. Only a gold coin donation in the honesty box is requested if entering the lighthouse. On a nice day the views over the Manukau inlet are stunning.

Dickey Road Lookout

Along the Manukau Heads Road, at the junction with Dickey Road, there is a rest area off the main road that looks out over the harbour. There is a plaque commemorating the wreck of the HMS Orpheus in 1863 with the loss of 189 lives.
