Okuku Scenic Reserve is a small DOC parking area where you can stop for a break.
There's a rocky stream, and an outdoor chair, but not much else.
For us, the main attraction was meeting the local Weka who happened to be roaming the area at the time. He was completely unfazed by our arrival. However, it's important not to feed these birds as it reduces their ability to survive in the wild.
