The reserve at Waiorongomai Station is a large grassed area with trees that is set well back off the main road, and includes a toilet.
This is a really nice quiet environment and would make a great picnic location and is also available for freedom camping if you are in a self-contained van.
Please not, that dogs are not allowed.
