The Awastone Campsite is in a quiet location in the Mangaweka gorge alongside the Rangitikei river.
With excellent facilities, including a nice cafe, river rafting activities, it is a really good option for getting away from the daily grind in an upmarket environment.
There is also a spa should you want to have a soak.
Awastone is more river adventure focussed, but also owns the Mangaweka Campground which is more family focussed.
We arrived at the end of March, when there weren't many campers there. I would imagine that it gets quite busy over the summer holiday season.
