Whakapapa Cafe is the watering hole for all the winter skiers and summer trampers. There is a large parking area to accommodate all the visitors.
It has a rugged majesty in the summer month that is a different world from being snow covered in winter. The cafe provides a range of basic food and we contented ourselves with a hot coffee and a shared muffin.
The cafe was pretty quiet, and it would be fun to come up on a clear day in winter just to see the difference - maybe next year...
