The Piripiri Campsite is a free basic DOC campsite with only a distant toilet and a grass clearing surrounded by New Zealand bush next to the Pohangina River.

 

Access is down a short steep gravel track which can be slippery when wet. Stream water only. We opted to walk down, not willing to risk our 8 meter motorhome. 

 

Apart from fishing in the river, or grazing on wild blackberries, there is not a lot of reason to visit.
