Fresh fruit and vegetables shop
The Big Apple is a visitor shopping centre on State Highway 3 just north of the turnoff to Waitomo. It's a good location to buy fruit and vegetables, and includes a cafe and gift shop.
We called in on our way to take the scenic route from Waitomo through Marokopa to New Plymouth. There was a good range of fresh fruit and vegetables, which we stocked up on as there is nowhere to buy groceries on that route before arrivnig in New Plymouth.
The cafe was still under construction when we visited, but should be open now.
