Arapuni Dam Rest Area

The Arapuni Dam Rest Area is at the junction of Arapuni Road and Powerhouse Road and overlooks the road across the dam. Its a pretty location, but a little noisy during the day with trucks driving back and forth across the dam.
We had an interesting chat to a young woman returning from a training run, and she recommended going out to Jones Landing where she had just come from. There a walk up to the top of a hill that has a spectacular view over the lake on a sunny day.
It was about 8 km away, and unfortunately we were running out of time, but that will be on my 'must do' list the next time we are out this way.
