The fresh water tap that you shouldn't use
The Public Dump Station in Ngaruawhahia is located just before The Point reserve. It is easy to use, but there is no fresh water for refilling your water tank.
There is a water tap on the wall of the building on the other side of the driveway, but we were advised by some local council staff that the water was not suitable for drinking. There was no sign to that effect, which is not good as most motor caravanners would just assume that it was ok.
