Carey Rd Esplanade is a small reserve just north of Colville. Right on the water's edge, looking out into Colville Bay, this is a great location for self contained motor caravanners.
While not far off the main Colville road, there is unlikely to be much traffic overnight.
The grassed parking area is quite level, and there are a couple of trees that could be used for shade.
However, be sure that you are certified self-contained if staying overnight - the Thames Coromandel District Council enthusiastically fines anyone who doesn't comply.
