The Trestle View Campsite is the last in the series of 8 DOC campsites stretched along the Kaereranga river valley. It is also open all year round.
It's in a nice location, and was surprisingly busy when we arrived. Of course it was a beautiful sunny day near the end of autumn, and most of the other campsites were closed, leaving this as the last option for camping.
You can pay you campsite fee at the DOC information kiosk, or at the kaereranga Visitor Centre. It may be worth booking ahead of time if you would like to stay over the summer holiday season. It's a long way to come out, only to find that it is fully booked.
