The Catleys Campsite is one of 8 DOC campsites along the Kaereranga river valley, and is a large area alongside the river.
It was the last day of the summer camping season when we visited, and the last campers were just packing up to leave.
It's in a nice sheltered location, and there is a 30 minute Booms historic walk that would be interesting to do.
You can pay at the DOC information kiosk, or book ahead of time, and pay at the Kaereranga Visitor Centre.
