The Booms Flat Campsite is one of 8 DOC campsites along the Kaereranga river valley, and is one of only two that allow dogs with their owners.
Unfortunately, the campsite was closed for the coming winter when we visited in early May. We were able to go in and have a look through the campsite, but there was nobody there.
It's in a nice location, with plenty of shelter, and close to the Kaereranga river.
You can pay at the DOC information kiosk, or book ahead of time and pay at the Kaereranga Visitor Centre.
