The Whangaiterenga DOC Campsite is a large spacious campsite, surrounded by native bush.
Unfortunately, we visited on the 1st of May, just after the campsite had been closed for the coming winter. We were able to go in and have a good look around, but there were no campers.
Very quiet and peaceful, this would be a really nice place to chill out and recover from the city stress.
You can pay your campground fee at the information kiosk, or book ahead of time and pay at the Kaereranga Visitor Centre.
There are strictly no dogs allowed - you need to stay at the Hotoritori campground if travelling with your canine friend.
