Tui Terrace is just a short walk from the Tairua town centre. It provides a parking area for the local fishing club, and the council have also made it available for freedom camping for certified self-contained vehicles. So we decided to have a look for ourselves, having just spent the night at the Tairua Holiday Park.
You can stay for a maximum of two nights and must park in the designated parking bays.
There were plenty of local people and visitors taking advantage of a pleasant Easter Sunday afternoon. It had rained overnight and it was still cloudy, but there was no wind and we enjoyed the short walk, taking some pictures of the scenery and local activity.
