The junction of the two streams flowing into the harbour
Onemana Beach Reserve sits at the junction of two streams as they come together to flow into the harbour. Freedom camping is allowed for certified self-contained motor caravanners.
Onemana is a small seaside community just north of Whangamata, and is just big enough to have a dairy, cafe, and a real estate office.
It has a small, east-facing white sand beach, which is also home to breeding dotterals between Labour weekend the the 1st of March. No dogs are permitted on that area of the beach during that time. Otherwise, dogs must be on a lead.
Like Pauanui, Onemana is a recent subdivision, populated mostly by holiday homes The whole environment is quiet and laid back, making this a very nice location to stay for a few days.
