Access driveway
Clark Valley Reserve is a large reserve just off SH6 south of Nelson. Freedom camping is allowed for self-contained motor caravanners.
It's a very spacious, but also isolated location alongside the Motupiko river. The access driveway is rough, but otherwise it's a beautiful forested location. There was just the one other van parked there when we called in in early autumn. This could be a good option if you're travelling with friends.
