Motupipi St Carpark in Takaka town has a dedicated area where certified self-contained motor caravanners can park overnight.
While it can get busy during the day, it proved to be very quiet overnight when we stayed on a Sunday night in early April. You have to leave by 7am the next morning.
It's not clear if you can park there during the day if you want to do some shopping as there is no minimum arrival time specified.
