The Owen River Tavern
The Owen River Tavern and Campsite borders the Buller river and offers low cost camping in a peaceful rural environment, and with access to the pub for meals if required.
The campsite is a large grassed area located only a few minutes walk from the Owen River Tavern. Close to the river, it offers trout fishing, kayaking, white water rafting, caving, cycling and tramping. Or you can just chill out and enjoy the peaceful environment.
We arrive on a later autumn afternoon, on our way to Nelson. We didn't have long to stop, and the hotel was closed at the time, so we didn't get to see or photograph the camping area. Be sure to check their website for more details.
