A first view of the falls along the way
The Maruia Falls is a large waterfall accessed from a short walk from the carpark. It's a nice quiet location and available for freedom camping in self-contained vans. You can stay for a maximum of 4 nights in any single calendar month.
It's set back from the main road and reasonably private and sheltered from the wind.
