Cable Bay Holiday Park is in a peaceful location a short walk from the Cable Bay reserve with the lookout and walkway.
It's a small campsite, well off the beaten track, and would make a great place to get away from it all for a while, especially given no cell phone coverage. The facilities are basic but clean.
The Cable Bay walkway offers great potential for exercise, or you could try kayaking from Pepin Island.
The holiday park manager was out when we visited, so we had a quick look around before heading on to Nelson.
