TASMAN-NELSON: NELSON

Mt Richmond Forest Park Picnic Area is a nice off-road picnic area where you can stop for a short break after driving up the long wind road up Mt Richmond, driving around 30km North-East from Nelson.

There is access to the river, so it might be a good location for trout fishing.

It's a surprisingly pleasant location to stop on a sunny afternoon. There are no signs forbidding overnight parking, and this would be a nice location to stop overnight, especially if you are travelling with other motor caravanners.
