The Whangamomona Camping Ground is just a short walk from the historic hotel and provides basic facilities and on-grass parking in a sheltered scenic area.
The campsite is on the site of the old Whangamomona school, and include the school house which now houses the kitchen and ablutions area.
It's a short work to the Whangamomona Hotel if you want to use the bar to try out one of their 'hearty meals'.

I haven't been here so wanted to know the price. Lots of positive comments online about this place. To search for it use Whangamomona Campground. Tent sites $10, powered $15. No dump station.
