The Mount Messenger Rest Area is a council managed parking area. It's not large and alongside a busy highway. Overnight parking is allowed for self-contained motor caravans.
Unfortunately, the graffiti, along with rubbish scattered around, did not create a good impression. It looked more like a location used by teens for drinking parties - certainly not a choice location for parking overnight.
We only stayed long enough to take some pictures.
