SOUTHLAND: CATLINS

The hilltop reserve at Fortrose has stunning views over the harbour and is available for freedom camping. However, it is more exposed to the wind, an the access road is pretty rough.

Having parked overnight in the main Fortrose reserve, we drove up the next morning just to see what it was like. The view from the top was certainly worth the drive, but otherwise we would prefer to down by the water's edge.
