There is a rest area overlooking the Clyde Dam where you can stop for a break, or park overnight if self-contained.
We stopped to check it out, and noticed a row of motorhome parking on the other side of the lake front. While we didn't have time to go down, it looks like a stunning location, with plenty of room, and off the main road.
We weren't able to drive across the dam, so getting there involves driving down into the Clyde township and crossing the bridge from there.
