Ginns Ngawha Springs is a world famous attraction that hardly anyone knows about. The thermal pools are reputed to have remarkable curative properties. But they are bare bones basic, and visitors love them.
The pools are wooden sided and mud-bottomed. There is nothing fancy. They are cheap to use. And yet, you are likely to find visitors from other countries as well as locals using them.

Powered and unpowered sites are also available for motor caravanners for $10 per night per person. If you'd like to spend a few days soaking in the pools, for whatever reason, this is a good option.
I'm told that the sunrise over the steaming lake can be quite spectacular.
We couldn't stay this time, but we're planning to come back.
