The Tutira Store is located at a strategic junction with SH2 where you can go to explore Lake Opou, Bellbird Bush, or the Boundary Stream Walkway and offers very basic low cost campsite facilities.
We called in on our way through to Wairoa and bought a pie for lunch.
The facilities were quite run down, but there is power available and a portaloo toilet. The business was up for sale, so maybe the new owners will tidy it up
