The Haumoana Reserve provides both sealed and on-grass parking near the beach, and overnight parking is allowed for self-contained motor caravanners
It's a reasonably quiet location, with a public toilet. The cycleway goes past, making this a good location if you are travelling with bikes, as you can cycle into Clive to buy groceries, or to have a look around.
