Access path to the beach
The long drive down Taieri Mouth Rd has a number of beach-front rest areas where you can stop for a break, or even overnight if self-contained.
This rest area is right on the southern most boundary of Dunedin city, and there is a path down to the beach.
It was a cold drizzly day when we stopped by, so we just took some pictures and moved on.
