Access to the river
Hurunui River Reserve is just north of the Hurunui River bridge and is available for freedom camping alongside the river.
It's not a large parking area, but it is reasonably sheltered and would make a nice spot to park overnight. And there is access to the river if you'd like to do some fishing.
