Spencer Beach Holiday Park is a large campsite just north of Christchurch city. It has beach access, and parking for the largest vans.
Parking is on grass, and the facilities are basic but clean. There are lots of activities in the area, including walking tracks, horse trails, mountain bike tracks, bird watching, and of course, the beach.
This is very much a traditional 'Kiwi campsite', and focussed on family type camping holidya activities.
The camp shop at the entrance includes a cafe.
There are a lot of long-term campers as a result of the Christchurch earthquakes, but there is still plenty of room for casual guests.
