Alpine View Holiday Park is on the main south road out of Christchurch and is currently focussed on providing long-term accommodation for people displaced by the Christchurch earthquakes.
We visited on a drear day in Autumn, and there was some building going on at the back of the campsite to provide motel type accommodation for people needing temporary long-term accommodation.
Bob, the owner, told me that he would be re-focussing more on tourism in a couple of years or so, depending on how long it takes for the Christchurch rebuilding to be completed.
We noticed that this was true of most of the campsites in the greater Christchurch area.
