BAY OF PLENTY: WHAKATANE

We called into the Ohope Beach Top 10 Holiday Park while we were exploring the Ohope Beach peninsula, and were immediately impressed by both the number and quality of the activities they had provided for both children and adults. These included a pool with the swirly water slides, trampolines, a jumping pillow, swings, jungle gym, slide, tennis courts, and the mini-golf course at the entrance. This is a place where families can have a ball.

At the same time there is a long white sands beach for swimming, fishing, or just going for a walk. Powered sites are available that overlook the beach. Overall, Ohope Beach Holiday Park would be hard to beat, especially if keeping the kids entertained is a priority.

We had a good walk around to get a feel for the location, but needed head back up to Auckland, so were not able to stay. Being late autumn, it was very quiet, making it also a great location to just chill out and enjoy the beach during the shoulder and off season.
