BAY OF PLENTY: ROTORUA

Golden Springs Holiday Park is about midway between Taupo and Rotorua, and has a thermal stream with two soak pools and a restaurant if you don't feel like cooking afterwards.

It's a basic campsite in a relaxed, quiet natural environment with good facilities. 

There is a bush walk along the thermal stream if you'd like some gentle exercise.

We only had time for a quick look around, but enjoying a soak in the hot pools followed up with a nice meal in the restaurant would make a nice change from normal campsites.
