The DOC campsite at Manganuku is divided into two areas well off the main road. It's in a sheltered mountainous area with access to the river and basic toilet facilities.
This is a nice location to spend a day, or park overnight. There's a walk to the old bridge and it's far enough off the road to be nice and quiet.
With no mobile phone access (might be an advantage...) it's quiet and peaceful with a beautiful mountain backdrop.
It's a standard DOC site with a self-registration booth, and long-drop toilets.
