BAY OF PLENTY: KATIKATI

Waihi Beach is repleat with free parking areas for self-contained motor caravanners to park overnight. The local Community Centre also offers their sealed parking space for overnight parking. Although not on the beach front, it is off the main road.

The indoor bowls club meets every Thursday evening, with a variety of other community and sports activities on other nights. This would be a pretty good opportunity to meet some of the local people who have proved to be so welcoming, and to maybe participate in some of their activities.

Given that Waihi Beach is a very popular holiday location over the summer months, the Community Centre carpark is a very welcome backup option when all the beach front parking area fill up. It is big enough to accommodate large motorhomes.
