Island View Esplanade is off the main beach road, just a short walk from the corner dairy.
This is a prime location, with clean toilets, and away from the main traffic flow. However, there is not a lot of room, so it is likely to fill up quickly in the summer holiday season.
We visited on a cold blustery day in mid-winter, and were the only ones there apart from a serviceman's van. We didn't stay long - just long enough to take some pictures before rushing back to the van to warm up.
The local council allows overnight parking for certified self-contained vans for a maximum of 3 consequtive nights.
UPDATE: 2-Mar-2015
We called in again on our way to Anzac Bay to meet up with some friends. It was a much nicer day, and we stopped to take some pictures - which look much more inviting.
