Entrance to the Porarari River walking track
The Porarari Carpark provides access to a scenic walking track along the Porarari River and also allows staying overnight in certified self-contained vehicles.
Interestingly, you need to read the fine print on the large NO CAMPING sign at the entrance. Also, pets are not allowed, and the maximum stay is for 4 nights in any calendar month. This is not on the sign, but I imagine that the ranger patrolling the site will advise you when he calls around.
The sealed parking area is a bit slopey, so you might need to get out the wheel ramps if staying overnight. Otherwise this is a great location to use as a base for exploring all that the Paparoa National Park has to offer.
We didn't have time to take the walk along the river, but plan to come back and do it on our next trip.
