Colville Close leads to a small picnic area overlooking the Punekaiki river. Freedom camping in self-contained motorhomes is welcomed by the local community.
While still visible from the main coast road, it is tucked away behind a small community of 14 homes. It's a special location. Please be considerate of the local residents.
There is also a more secluded parking area on the other side of the coast road, with a stunning view along the Punekaiki river.
