WELLINGTON: UPPER HUTT

Poet's Park is a large reserve that runs alongside the Hutt River and on the other side of State Highway 2 from Upper Hutt city. The Rimutaka Cycle Trail runs through it on its way north from Petone.

It's a beautiful location and should be a good place to stop for a break. The sign at the entrance advises No Camping, which presumably means no overnight parking even if self-contatain.

Checked with the Upper Hutt city council if you'd like to stay over.

There is a small long-drop toilet.
