Lake Ferry Hotel is the southern-most hotel in the North Island, and is located on the lake front overlooking Lake Ferry.
You can have a meal at the hotel while staying at the Lake Ferry Holiday Park, or possibly while freedom camping in the lakeside reserve. Check at the hotel to see if you can do this.
The hotel also doubles as the reception for the campsite.
It's also worth driving around the corner to check out the ocean beach. It's pretty rugged, but there is good parking if you want to stop for a picnic or to do some fishing.
