On grass parking
Rapurapu Reserve is a large open reserve located alongside a river, and is available for self-contained motor caravanners to park overnight.
It had been raining heavily for a few days before we arrived, and the grassed areas were too soft to risk taking our front wheel drive motorhome on. It shouldn't be a problem over summer.
Much of the parking was undulating, so finding a level parking area may be a challenge if the reserve is busy.
This would also be a nice place to stop for a break while travelling in the area.
