The Hotoritori Campsite is one of 8 DOC campsites along the Kaereranga river valley.
It's surrounded by bush, making it very sheltered and peaceful. However the parking areas are all on grass, so it may get too soft in really wet weather.
There is a nice walk to Jasper Creek, which takes around 20 minutes. There are also mountain bike tracks and horse tracks.
Dogs are allowed, but must be kept on a lease at all times.
You can pay your camping fee at the information kiosk at the campsite entrance. It's worth booking ahead of time at the Kaereranga Visitor Centre if you'd like to stay over the summer holiday season.
