Lonely motorhome
Lake Hayes Reserve is a large grass reserve which used to be a very popular freedom camping location until it was closed to overnight parking because of the rubbish and mess being left behind.
It is a stunning location, and illustrates what motor caravanners can lose access to when some freedom campers abuse the privilege of being able to stay in these beautiful environments.
We went for a drive through on a beautiful autumn afternoon, to find it mostly empty. Of course it is still open to the public, and motor caravanners can visit during the day, but have to leave before 10 pm.
