The Gisborne Showgrounds have three areas set aside with powered sites and facilities for campers.
This was an unusual venue for a campground, but it works quite well, with the large grassed area of the showgrounds providing a spacious feeling.
The facilities are old and quite basic, but the price is right, and it would be a nice location to stay at while visiting Gisborne. Just plan to avoid the busy events. unless you are pllanning to attend.
