The DOC camping area at Lake Middleton is spread over a large grassed area with direct access to the lake. This is a great location for water based activities or for just chilling out.
The camping area is only open from September to May, and registration must be paid at the kiosk upon arrival.
Dogs are allowed, but must be kept on a lead at all times.
This is not a flash up-market campsite - but quintissentially Kiwi, in a beautiful natural environment with a stunning backdrop of mountains. And it's only $8 per person per night!
