Kaikoura is a visitor-focussed town, being famous for its whale watching tours and sea-food reataurants. The Top 10 Holiday Park is a good place to stay over while you participate in some of these activities.
If you don't want to trek into town for dinner, Tuti's restaurant and bar across the road looks like it offers a really nice menu.
