CANTERBURY: KAIKOURA

Peketa Beach Holiday Park is about 8 km south of Kaikoura and a large campsite with direct access to the beach, good fishing, and a quiet location.

This would be a great place for a camping holiday with a young family, for keen fishermen, or just as a place to chill out and enjoy a beautiful beach environment.

There a playground for the kids, including a flying fox for the more adventurous, and a mini-golf course for adults looking for some more gentle exercise.

You can also book into a diving course for either skuba or free diving at the campsite office.

There is also a shop providing most of the basics.

We weren't able to check out the facilities as they had a combination lock to ensure that only paying campers use them. However, everything else around the campsite was of a high standard, and we'd expect the toilets and showers to be the same.

This would be on our preferred list of places to stay
